Ingredients
- 1 medium orange, peeled and quartered
- 3 kale leaves
- 1 medium apple, cut into wedges
- 1 medium beet, peeled and cut into wedges
- 1 1-inch piece peeled fresh ginger
- Ice cubes (optional)
Preparation
-
Prep Your Ingredients before You Start Juicing: Use the whole kale leaf (stem included), core and quarter the apple (you can discard discard the core if that’s your preference, but I don’t). Do not juice, in any order. Cut the juice only half and add to your juice. Each juicer operates a bit differently, so be sure to familiarize yourself with how it works before juicing.
-
We found that the order in which the vegetables are added to the machine matters. For example, kale gets a more juice through the chute. Heartier fruits go through the chute harder fruits to get through the chute. So we use the order followed: feed in order.
-
If you don’t have a juicer and don’t mind a little pulp, then use a fine-mesh strainer to strain the juice after juicing. If you like a more concentrated, cold juices, add a little water to thin it out.
Notes
If you don’t have a juicer and don’t mind a little pulp, then use a fine-mesh strainer to strain the juice after juicing. If you like a more concentrated juices.
