Potent Sauerkraut Elixir Drink

A concentrated, probiotic-rich elixir made from the brine of fermented sauerkraut. This powerful wellness shot contains beneficial bacteria and enzymes that support digestive health.

Yield: Approximately 2 cups | Prep time: 5 minutes | Fermentation: Use leftover sauerkraut brine

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sauerkraut brine (from fermented sauerkraut or other fermented vegetables)
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Preparation

  1. Gather brine: Use the liquid remaining from your fermented sauerkraut or fermented vegetables.

  2. Strain if needed: Ensure the brine is clear of vegetable pieces by straining through cheesecloth.

  3. Optional enhancement: Add honey, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and sea salt for additional flavor and benefits.

  4. Store: Transfer to a glass bottle and refrigerate.

  5. Consume: Take 1–2 ounces daily as a wellness shot, or dilute in water to taste.

Storage

Refrigerate for up to 6 months.

Notes

The more pungent and complex the sauerkraut, the more potent the elixir. Start with small amounts and work up to tolerance.
