Mental Health Hygiene Builds Healthy Life and Business Success
Since the Ice Age, nothing has changed the world faster than business. It is ethical businesses, led by morally courageous people, that can rapidly transform our world for the better. It’s your business how you live your life.
~ Donna Maltz
Let's face it, life always brings new challenges, so what are you doing about it? No matter what phase of life, it's your business, what you do with your life, and how you spend your time and money. So what are you doing these days? Are you living, eating, and working like the future matters?
If you are in business or an entrepreneur like me, you will find this post might hit a familiar nerve. I have first-hand experience hitting the wall, questioning my abilities, and doubting myself. Considering the times, I thought it would be an excellent time to be vulnerable, spill some beans, and give some juicy advice. Also, ask for your help and support. 🤗 The world is hurting from Hati to Ukraine, people in your community, and possibly your family - what about you?
How many times have you seen someone's boundless optimism carry the day? Or someone seemingly completely relaxed achieves enormous success? Are you one of those people, or are you stressed out and doing everything you can to make your life and business successful, but nothing is working? Are the six inches between your ears foggy or undernourished, or forgotten? Our vital brains control our business.
Mental health plays a massive role in your success. Issues like depression, anxiety, and stress can cause brain fog and steal our energy. Overwork and overwhelm shut off the part of the brain that comes up with out-of-the-box soulutions, so every task feels harder. Every decision is monumental.
What do those cool, calm, collected business leaders and conscious humans know about mental health that you don't? How can this knowledge build business and life success?
Know That You Can't Do It All
There comes a time when stress, crises, or just the day-to-day grind and personal problems can strike hard at mental health. It's times like these to bring in the support team. Successful people know better than to go it alone. They start by building a team they can count on, even if it's just having a friend to talk to when times feel challenging. But more than that, they know when to get professional help. Having a counselor or mentor to talk to can do wonders for preserving your mental health. Since when is it not in fashion to ask for help?
"The faster we take care of a wound, the sooner it heals."
Know to Exercise and Hug a Tree
You know that exercise is excellent for physical and mental health, right? Your body in motion gets the blood flowing, which sends more oxygen to the brain, meaning you'll think more clearly. More importantly, the dopamine produced by exercise throws a little feel-good chemical in the brain, improving mood. If you feel blue, unmotivated, or like a piece of sh**, get your butt moving.
And while you're at it, move that body outdoors. Hug a tree, climb a tree, sit under a tree. It might be cold, rainy, or snowy where you are, but that's why they made outdoor gear which is most likely sitting in your closet. The only reasons not to spend at least an hour a day outdoors moving your precious body are because there's a volcanic eruption, blazing fires, and pollution levels are so high that the air quality sucks. Sure, there are other legitimate reasons, but you get my point. Get outside into the fresh air for at least an hour a day. Studies prove that being in Nature and relating to Nature is vital to bringing out our true Nature. This has been the most rewarding practice with all my clients.
Taking regular breaks and moving your body (every hour) from the darkening digital world does wonders for your beautiful brain that craves to be creative and to think for itself rather than being told to. Still, I am happy you clicked to read this post. So, be selective! Stop reading, watching, and listening to disturbing things that bring you down and shrink your brilliant brain.
STOP the CRAZINESS. LOVE MORE, GIVE MORE, TOUCH MORE, BE MORE! ♥️
Know to Pay it Forward.
One of the best ways to preserve your mental health is to give yourself something meaningful to focus on, namely, giving back to someone else. You might have your own mentor, but this doesn't mean you can't mentor someone who might not be as far along as you are. Concentrating on helping others makes you spend less time worrying about what's going on in your life. Besides, you feel better about yourself when you help others. More importantly, you remind yourself of where you've come from and start to see the lessons you might have missed when you were in the thick the sh**. All of this reminds you that you're not doing as badly as you thought.
It's important to pay attention to early action, which preserves mental health so you can focus on getting where you want to go in life and your career. If you have the tools, you can go from burnout to bliss pretty quick. I’m finishing a jumpstart course on this very subject, it will be available soon!

PS: A mental health assistant is crucial, especially if you work independently without much support from coworkers or in a more traditional work setting. Knowing what to do and where to turn does not have to be daunting. Ask for help from someone you trust. At the very least, they can be of comfort and help you find help.
