A Savory Folk Healing Soup Recipe

When you’re out under the open sky during the colder months, it’s vital to nourish your system with the best herbs, foods, and fluids that your budget allows. With that in mind, one thing we LOVE to make in our house is a nutrient-rich, herb-infused soup from the old country.

This delicious soup packs a serious healing punch!

Recipe inspired by Nick Polizzi, host of Healing Kitchen: Let Food Be Thy Medicine and founder of The Sacred Science.

Ingredients

  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • Ginger (measured to your liking)
  • ½ onion, diced

  • 12 oyster mushrooms, quartered
  • 3 medium potatoes, chopped

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Water
  • Sea Salt (to taste)

  1. Sauté onions, garlic, and ginger in olive oil until fragrant.
