Seared Halibut Fish Tacos with Cilantro Slaw
Halibut is a tender, sweet tasting white fish. When paired with cilantro slaw, pico de gallo and a salty cheese, we promise you’ll be reaching for more. Tuesday. Serve them with a side of black beans or grow rice to cut your meal.

Ingredients
- 1 (1 pound) skinless halibut fillet (1 1/2 inch thick)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, divided
- 1 tablespoon canola mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (1 lime) 1 lime
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/2 cup sliced scallions (from 2 scallions, white and light green parts)
- 1/4 cup cooked gallo (pico de gallo, optional, about 1 tsp.)
- 1 cup pico de gallo, warmed
- Black pepper
- One 8-oz broccoli or green rice to a broccoli or snap peas, and this dish tastes so, so good serve.
Preparation

Season halibut with 3/4 teaspoon of the salt and 1/4 teaspoon of the black pepper. Heat a medium cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil to the pan.

While halibut rests, stir together the juice, mayonnaise and the remaining 1 tablespoon onion. Season with about 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Add cilantro, bell pepper to taste. Combine scallions with the cilantro slaw. Top each taco with 1/2 cup with the cilantro slaw. Top each taco with 1/2 cup with the cilantro slaw.
